The kids are home for the holidays and I’m missing time with John. Apparently, he is feeling the same way, because we decided to head out on a bike ride together today. We headed down to the High Bridge Trail in Farmville. If we know each other, you know that’s a frequent place for us to ride win fair weather. The trail is under renovation, though. You can’t actually ride on the high bridge trestle. But soon you will be able to. After a good while of considering it to be under renovation, though we couldn’t see any progress, we are seeing a flurry of progress and the department of conservation appears to be working toward actually meeting a deadline of April 2012 for the trestle to be opened. The trail is supposed to eventually extend from FArmville, VA to Blackstone, VA. How long after the trestle opens it will be until the entire trail is complete, I don’t know. Stay tuned, though:0)
15 mile ride. That’s ok. It was just right for us today.
We also spent the evening with our Wed. night ride friends. The MO was changed up a bit, as we enjoyed a delicious potluck dinner at the home of cycling friends, rather than a restaurant. There were some excellent, healthy selections and the array of friends was precious. Great evening.
Cycle joyfully, and remember: if you’re not having fun; you’re in the wrong gear.
