A wonderful gift was given me Thursday. A gentleman/cyclist I know transferred his Bike Virginia registration over to me. He couldn’t make it to the ride, due to some very positive things in his life, and passed on a blessing to me, also.
So, at this moment, I’m frantically preparing for 5 days of cycling on a supported tour of Southwest, VA. It’s actually, one of the registered rides like the MS 150, but I think I have the option to do about 550 miles on this ride. More, if I just tool around and sight-see…… or get lost, which you know is an eventuality;0)
You should see the car. Since I don’t have to pack it all in panniers, I’m taking a decent sized tent, a foam bunk bed pad, a Coleman stove, camp chair, coolers, pots and pans, and the personal “loo”. This is like a 5-star resort compared to self-supported, solo touring, which has it’s own benefits too (kinda like seeking peace on Walden Pond).
Time to finish packing, and hit the road.
Go make your own breeze, and remember: if you’re not having fun; you’re in the wrong gear.
