Equipment

This is about the equipment I’m using. Hopefully, you will find it helpful, as you choose equipment for your own joyful journey.

Bike: Surly Long Haul Trucker  (I’m 5’5″ tall, and riding a 54cm bike. It’s a little large for   me, but feels good and is an unbelievably smooth ride)

Pedals: Spyder mountain biking pedals with studs and spikes for traction

Racks: Surly Front rack, Tubus Logo rear

Panniers: Transit Rollers, Topeak Handlebar bag (wonderful bag!)

Trailer: Bob Yak Plus

Tent: Kelty II Gunnison – Older model, REI half dome

Sleeping system: ThermaRest women’s half pad, lumbar pad and will have to post sleeping bag type later.

Rain Jacket: REI Kimtah jacket, with e-vent fabric

Rain pants:  Marmot  full zip rain pant

Stove: Trangia mini

Clothes: home-made linen knickers, UA wicking running shirt, cheap running pants from Dillards (I don’t like cycling in pads and don’t like to waste money on expensive stuff I don’t need, so I buy what works for me), UA wicking tank top, Terry unpadded mountain biking shorts (a gift, which I really like!), mountain biking shorts from REI (trying to get the pads out!), Wind tights, kerchiefs (I take several kerchiefs because they seem to have many functions in camp, and on the road. clean ones are good emergency compression pads, coffee filters, sling, camp towel, sweat band, etc), sports bras, 1 homemade skirt, zoot suit (swim suit)

Shoes: No cycling shoes. I have Jeep and Merrell outdoor, breathable shoes. I’d like shoe covers of some kind

GPS: Garmin Etrex Vista HCx

Netbook: HP mini netbook, 2160

Any thoughts?
