Today was a good day. With temps in the upper 60′s, or lower 70′s, I hit the trail. I took my recumbent, my 2-wheeled trailer and my dog to the Capital Trail. I had tried this a little over a week ago with my one wheeled, BOB trailer. That did NOT work well. I didn’t get to cycle that day.
Today, however, I zipped the passenger compartment shut and though the dog hated the trip and bounced off the various walls of the “berth”, I did the entire 14 miles. None of the tires had more than 20 psi, so it was a difficult ride, but one I was determined to make.
The dog never did relax. She twisted and futzed the entire trip, unfortunately. Hopefully, she will adjust to cycling as a lifestyle, as it’s very much in our future. The trip was great, the non-existent hills were very much in existence to this out-of-shape cyclist. My knees complained, my muscles complained and my dog complained. I can’t wait to do this again.
Tomorrow, I can’t, though and Thursday, the temps are back down in the teens. AND I have to get to WV to check on the house, as the temps there are supposed to be single digit this weekend. Ah well, today was an unexpected gift
Go make your own breeze and remember: if you’re not having fun; you’re in the wrong gear.
Poor dog.
