I keep meaning to post, but I’m home for such a short while, that I’m busy every moment. Friday, I leave for Tennessee. I’ll be gone for 3 weeks, cycling the Natchez Trace, then a bit further south, just for fun. That will complete my touring for this year. Ugh>:(
Sadly.
Will continually be looking for folks to ride in and around home. The entire concept of driving 30 miles to do a 30 mile ride is feeling wasteful to me. Hopefully, I can arrange to lead regular rides from Goochland, so folks can get RABA miles and still cycle from home.
For my Richmond friends, there is an article in style weekly about some positive steps in the city for cyclists and cycling: http://www.styleweekly.com/richmond/nathan-burrell-30/Content?oid=1623801
There is also a Downtown Forum on “all things bike” on Thurs. It begins at 5:30 at the War Memorial. It’s helpful to the organizers as they try to have enough seating, or space, to know how many might come, so they ask for an RSVP if you know you are coming, before the last minute. Here’s the link: http://richmond-more.org/news/2011/downtown-forum-on-biking-in-rva
I will be home packing my panniers, so probably won’t make it. A 6:30 flight in the morning means being at the airport at 5:30… which in turn, means leaving home at 4:30. NOT my cuppa tea, but it gets me where I want to cycle:0)
Go make your own breeze and remember: if you’re not having fun; you’re in the wrong gear.
You’ve had an amazing year of touring! Any idea what you might be doing next year? I pedalled past the Inn at Kellys Ford yesterday and thought of you.
Less touring. Though this has been great, I need to begin focusing on work again. I’d really like to explore Louisiana by bike, but don’t know what it has to offer cyclists. I still want to cycle La Route Verte is high on my “to do” list. http://www.routeverte.com/rv/index_e.php?page=historique_e
